A warm & welcoming atmosphere

The interiors are designed by the Countess Dorothea de La Houssaye, an internationally renowned interior designer, who has restored historic properties in both Paris and Normandy. Her own Château de l’Isle-Marie has been featured in numerous life-style books and more than a dozen interior design magazines worldwide.

The prestigious magazine Travel & Leisure chose Château de I’Isle-Marie as one of the 50 Most Romantic Hideaways Worldwide. Dorothea’s interiors have appeared in "Romantic Country Houses of France" by Taschen and in "Chez Elle" and "The Art of Living in Normandy", both edited by Flammarion in France. The Manoir de Sully’s interiors will resemble the reception rooms and bedrooms at Château de l’Isle-Marie that can be seen on www.islemarie.com.

The Countess has spent many years welcoming guests from all over the world to her unique family Château in Normandy. She has a passion for period style and sumptuous comfort, and a flair for choosing fabrics and furniture that blend perfectly with a particular architectural character. Each room will have a luxurious atmosphere with antique furniture that reflects the period.

The Manor will be both welcoming and practical. Bedrooms will boast four-poster beds or romantic canopies and some double beds can be transformed into twin beds for maximum flexibility for guests. Toile de Jouy fabrics will feature alongside quilted damasks and crisp linens. The choice of colours will reflect the Manoir’s history. The Manoir’s interior and antique furnishings, pictures, old prints and mirrors will take pride of place.

The entire estate is equipped with brand new state-of-the art central heating, electrics and plumbing. The roofs are fully insulated and restored and no expense has been spared in the restoration to enhance the character of this historic property.
